In the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon live a Bedouin tribe comprised of mainly Sunni Muslim families. In 1961, German missionaries ministered to this tribe and as a result, the Bedouin chief became a follower of Jesus. He started Al Mahaba school, or 'The School of Love' to serve his community with the love of Jesus.
NEO Leaders began working with Al Mahaba and in 2015 provided teachers, Bible classes, trainings for families, Discovery Bible Study (DBS) gatherings, and community support. Over the years, more rooms have been added to the school. Today, the school has eleven classrooms, grades 1st-6th, and 500 students. NEO Leaders has seen a significant number of students and their families learn and grow in their love of Jesus.
Al Mahaba has the opportunity to gain proper accreditation for the school which would significantly impact the students excel and continue their education. This accreditation provides hope and a future for hundreds of underprivileged children who would otherwise have to stop their education after 6th grade. In order to meet the standards for this process, significant renovations need to be made.
Specifically, your gift today for Al Mahaba School will go toward:
RENOVATIONS
PROJECT COST: $45,000
Begin and complete renovations, including electrical, structural, plumbing, and concrete fixes and fresh paint
SCHOOL OPERATIONS
PROJECT COST: $99,000
Gain accreditation for Al Mahaba and provide salary for teachers, cost of operations, materials, stationary, and supplies
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
PROJECT COST: $18,480 - Basic supplies, food, and hygiene items for 65 families in the community, including weekly Discovery Bible Study (DBS) groups for staff and families
