48 hours of Prayer for Novo’s Worldwide Conference
Every four years, Novo staff, families, and a few friends come together for what has affectionately come to be known as our WWC—meaning Worldwide Conference. The next gathering is this coming week, July 25-31, 2022. Novo staff come together for refreshment, relationship, fun, and renewed vision for this task of gospel movements to which God has called us — and this conference is more important than ever given all that the world has been through in the last 4 years. But we believe that when the people of God come together in prayer, it changes things.
In the 2 days leading up the conference, we are coordinating prayer for every hour of the day. You can sign up for one hour of prayer on July 21 or 22 and we’ll send you a guide of things you can do during your prayer time, whether you sign up to cover the 3:00 am slot, or the 11:00pm slot! Click below to sign up:
Note: Only one time slot is available, so if you don’t see the time you’d like to pray during, someone else may have already signed up for that time. Feel free to choose to pray on your own or pick another time to pray.
Here are some ways you may want to spend your hour in prayer:
Virtual Prayer Walk
This is a link to the Google satellite map of the resort where the conference will be held. Feel free to pray over the structures and areas you see- beaches, accommodations, restaurants, sporting facilities, meeting places, pools, walkways. You can also drag the little yellow human in the corner to locations on the map to get photo spheres and street views of the location.
Theme Prayer
Read either Revelation 5 or Colossians 1. The themes of worthiness of Christ and how Christ makes us worthy to carry on the work of the Gospel are in these passages. Pray into those themes, that our speakers and artists will be able to bring those out effectively.
Artistic Prayer
Listen to the Holy Spirit for five to fifteen minutes. Sometimes it helps to ask a question first: "What do you want me to pray for?" "What do you want me to see?" Pay attention to images, sounds, smells, tastes, sensations that come from your listening time.
Respond creatively to your listening time by drawing, painting, writing a poem or a prose piece, dance, or taking postures that reflect what you've heard.
Breath Prayer
This contemplative practice is a way of embodying an idea over a period of time by repeating it with each breath. A phrase like "Jesus, you are worthy" or "Worthy is the Lamb" are examples of phrases for breath prayer.
Visio Divina
Take some time to meditate on this image, or find an image that communicates "Worthy, Worthy, Worthy." Read Revelation 5:9-10 and meditate on the song of the Elders. Then gaze at the image with the song in mind. What do you notice? What stands out? Pray along the lines of your observation with the image in front of you
Worthy Playlist
We've put together an hour-long playlist of worship music that focuses on the worthiness of God. Here are links to the list on different platforms: Spotify; Youtube. Sing along if you want, dance, kneel.
A suggestion for kids
Here's something you can do with children: Ask God to show you something that you're looking forward to at the conference and draw a picture of it.
Fill in the Blank
Here are some simple fill-in-the-blanks that can stimulate a conversation with God during this time. This is appropriate for children as well:
God, you are worthy of __________________________
God, I love __________________________ about you.
God, show me your heart for these people _______________ ________________ ___________________
Thank you for _________________________
Please show us / help us _____________________________
God, please protect _________________________
Listening Dialogue
Write a dialogue between you and Jesus about the conference.
